Community
Service
Throughout the Alpha Gamma chapter at Ohio State we feel that it's
important to give back. We feel blessed to be where we are today with so
many opportunities and feel strongly about helping the community around us.
As a national fraternity we have two national philanthropies. Children's
Miracle Network (CMN) was selected in 1992 to be the fraternity's national
philanthropy. Recently, however, the Huntsman Cancer Institute was also
selected as another national philanthropy recognized by chapters
internationally. Both organizations put their own community's best interest
first and provide help to those in need. Sigma Chi is proud to be associated
with these fine organizations and looks forward to helping whenever
possible.
The Alpha Gamma chapter also contributes on the
local level. In addition to helping with Children's Miracle Network in our
community, we also coordinate local park cleanups. We've been holding this
program for the past few years along with a local sorority, which is
assigned at the time. Last year we held our park cleanup with the Ladies of
Pi Beta Phi. We feel obligated to give back to the community that has
already provided so much for our college experience.
