Sigma Chi Mission Statement
The principle and object of its organization
were not to be different from those of other similar college societies. The
purposes were praiseworthy and honorable, being the formation of a social and
literary club, where young men, selected for their high moral character, mental
endowments, literary tastes and congenial dispositions, could meet for the
purpose of furthering their interests while at college. Such a society, we
believed, would be of great value to its members, in the formation of valuable
friendships, in the cultivation of social virtues, in promoting a taste for
literature and in aiding each other to obtain the rewards and prizes usually
offered by colleges to young men of high and honorable standing in their
classes. These were the purposes which the founders of society had in view.

Principles Based Organization-
Sigma Chi is a fraternity of young men that was founded on the principles
of friendship, justice, and learning. The bonds of friendship, which are
formed during the undergraduate years, are lifelong in duration.
-
Diversity of Membership- Sigma
Chi prides itself on the diversity of its membership. Sigma Chi's are men
of different talents, temperaments, and convictions. The fraternity looks
to recruit young men who are students of fair ability, who are ambitious,
who possess strong morals, who have a high sense of honor, and who have a
deep sense of personal responsibility.
-
Leadership Training- A goal of
the fraternity is to become the preeminent collegiate leadership

all college fraternities. Many Sigs have achieved notable success in
important fields of human endeavor, and undergraduates have an opportunity
to meet many of these achievers at alumni events. Lastly, the badge of
Sigma Chi is best known and recognized of all fraternities and becomes a
sign of instant identification.*
-
Enjoyment of Campus Life- Sigma
Chi's have fun! Throughout the year there are numerous functions and
social gatherings that make academic life a lot more enjoyable. Afterhours,
Sorority Exchanges and TGs, Football Block, Homecoming, Derby Days,
